A Tribute to Vinny Germani — Steward, Leader, Friend

Vince Germani worked for Ravitz ShopRite and was a proud member of UFCW Local 360 for a total of 45 years; an executive board member for 20 years; and, a Union Shop Steward for most of his tenure at ShopRite. He was Union strong and fought hard for our members’ rights. Most of us at 360, past and present, met Vinny on a picket line somewhere in the United States. Anything that the Union ever asked of him, he would do. This included picket lines, strike lines, commercials for local politicians, and travel to other states for the elections of democratic leaders. We cannot emphasize enough, Vinny’s loyalty, sincerity, commitment, and love he had for the democratic party and his UNION. Last year, Vinny asked us if there would be an opportunity to canvas for the presidential election, to please let him know, as more than likely he would be retiring soon and this would be his last presidential campaign push. There is no doubt that Vinny was a great example of a dedicated Labor Leader. But above all, Vinny was our friend. We will miss him terribly!
